What is that the hubby is working on in the first photo?
I’m envisioning lots of vegetables from your newly-acquired garden plot.

We got this wood chest (most likely an old TV stand) high end with actual dovetailed details for €30. It is painted Grey and we then went on Marktplaats (like Craig’s list) and picked up some matching tiles so we could seal (protect) the top and have a nice work space for processing veggies. He did a wonderful job! I cut my first zucchini this morning.
We are doing the straw bale farming and to say that it has made people a bit nervous is like an understatement. I even have had the mortified look from one woman. 😂🤣 I just keep telling them I have an agricultural degree and was raised in a farm in the US and that mostly stops the negative energy. New ideas (straw bale farming is not new) are always a hard sell until people see the results.

Thanks for explaining the project in the first photo. You keep on farming just the way you learned, despite the mortified looks.

Funny, funny or strange looks have never bothered me or stopped me from doing exactly what I want to do! Today I was busy making a tench compost and “felt” like I was being watched. I looked up and the older lady two gardens away was giving me the stare down. I am sure I am creating a great deal of conversation.😂🤣👩‍🌾

I need some words – what’s that going on in the first photo? Tiles? Backsplash? Counter???
