A few weeks ago, while canoeing in the Weerribben here in The Netherlands, we suddenly both of us got the feeling like we experienced this view before. The hubby quickly got out the camera and took a picture. I told him I knew I had a similar picture in my files. We had paddled the BWCA with a similar view. Funny, we both thought, that thousands of miles apart in location, that we seemed to be experiencing this view again.

Yeah. It was the trees that gave this away for me. But the scenes do look really similar.

Sorry, I cheated and saw the comments first. Isn’t it amazing how the brain can subconsciously take a set of input cues and marry them them up with a past recollection? I would have gone with the second picture being in the Netherlands purely based on how calm the water was which seems to be a trait over there.

Seriously- I am going to take a picture of white caps on our small canal and post it. Just so I can dispel your beliefs that the weather is always calm here. Really this was an unusual year.

I also thought the first photo was of the Boundary Waters. I should check out photo #2 in person, though, just to be sure! You are fortunate to experience both settings!
