Today we hiked the bird area close to the camping. This area has an observation deck where you can look at the birds that land to feed. There is a trail through the woods that skirts the birding area this 3km loop was a wonderful hike.

What a wonderful area you live in — land, water, architecture! And with so much water, the bird migrations must be spectacular!

That part of The Netherlands is so different from the crowded area where we normally live. We took a picture at one point where we were paddling and it looks similar to one of our Boundary Waters pictures. Really cool place and nice and relaxing.

Now we’re talking! Did you see any unusual birds out there? From the shot, looks like large white birds in the far points (Swans possibly) and looks like a healthy flock of shorebirds (peeps, plovers etc.maybe)

I have some pictures coming up in a future blog. Those birds were looking for something special as their cameras were pointed at some marsh grass (where I saw no birds!). There was a really cool heron (white) we got a picture of with my hubby’s camera. That blog will be out on 18 Oct.
