This year we will travel to the Dutch Open Canoe Festival (link to English information), 7-9 September, being held at the National Park De Weerribben-Wieden. We are looking forward to this new event for us. We will be attending this event with our cedar strip canoe “Cedar”.
This is not the first time we have visited the area, in June 2016 we spent a week at this wonderful national park with our new (to us) camper. We had fun exploring the area in a rented electric motorboat and a rented kayak. Here are a few pictures of that trip as the excitement builds for us in the coming week.
We hope to see some of you there.

I love these pictures. They show how unspoiled nature can be in a densely populated area like NL, when the authorities insist on a few simple rules (like kayaks and electric motor driven boats on the waterways).

Thanks Peter! The National Parks are pretty special even though they are much smaller here than in the US or Canada.
