Deep Purple Tulip Queen of Night
My first love, before kayaking, are flowers. They have always “grounded” me wherever in the world I have hung my hat. It was wonderful to make it back home to The Netherlands this week from cool Minnesota to find that my backyard Dutch garden in just one short week exploded in a canvas of color. These tulips I received from a friend (for free) last fall. I couldn’t be happier at the result this Spring.

Purple Tulip Negrita

Tulip Abba

Tulip Bastogne

Tulips Orange Princess & Freeman

Tulip Uncle Tom
Color is also the many shades of green that are now popping out in the garden.

I hope you enjoyed a wonderful return visit to Minnesota, despite the cold. My ferns are just emerging from the soil. And perhaps my tulips will bloom in a week or three.

It was very snowy in MN. The second trip was better and we did enjoy some hiking. Hopefully you don’t have deer in your area that like the taste of tulips. Enjoy Spring!

I am back in Holland, it is my actual Dutch backyard. We only were in MN for a week this last time.

LOL- I really don’t know how you keep up with your readers. I have a hard time if I have been away for a few days. I think I missed a few of your posts too. It is nice when I am busy but hard to catch up with everything.

My wife and I are just coming home from Vancouver Island, where we visited our latest grandchild in Victoria. I am still TRYING to keep up with the comments in the hotel room. But I don’t always succeed. Have a great weekend!

Your photography is wonderful. The tulips are gorgeous. One of my truly most wonderful memories is visiting the Netherlands in May a couple of years ago. Upon returning home, I made a quilt with tulip blocks so I would always remember the wonderful experience. 🙂

I am so glad you were able to visit while the tulips were blooming. Sometimes people miss it by a few days and are very disappointed. I am very lucky I get to live in this wonderful place. Thanks for stopping and for your comment!😀
