Snowdrops the first sign of Spring

I was out for my daily walk and was also testing my new camera.  I have been wanting a new camera for documenting my travels for a while.  I know most people would go with a GoPro camera but I was not willing to fork out the money for something that limited my options.  I went with a Panasonic DMC-FT5.

I am feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the functions and stuff this powerful little camera can produce. So practice makes perfect…

I was excited when I saw these little snowdrop wonders peeking out of the ground.  I was able to try some of the new features of my camera.  Their emergence each Spring is the start of the explosion of color that is produced here each year as the commercial bulb fields flower.

Snowdrops, the first sign of Spring in The Netherlands.

It also means the weather is starting to warm to the point where I can once again adventure with my kayak or our beautiful cedar canoe.

We have plans for the following locations this year.

Fuerteventura, one of the Canary Islands, we are going to seek the sun.

Minnesota, where I plan on visiting  a few State Parks, explore the Minnesota River and my old favorite the St Croix River.

We are heading out West to participate in a volunteer project in Wyoming for a week.

In The Netherlands, we have plans for a seasonal camping close to the city of Dordrecht starting in May.  This will be my escape from the city life and will provide tons of kayaking and canoe opportunities.

The fall will bring us back to Minnesota.  We are planning on exploring the St Croix River in a canoe from the headwaters in Wisconsin to Stillwater, Minnesota.

If any of my readers would like to offer advice for any of these locations, please send your comments or suggestions.  We are excited that our plans are taking us to new places and that you are all along for the ride.

Happy Spring!!!
